Collecting Data

I have lots of thoughts about connecting weather n photography... like chocolate n peanut butter

Such a sunny day I thought it might be a great sunset, so I thought of an experiment.

Copy the weather data then take a pic of the sky from Mt. P that night

Great clear sky in the afternoon blurred sky at sunset.

People who love photography are into many aspects.

A photography club, school photography class might experiment ..

Create a google spread sheet

Enter the weather .. time data

Take the photo from the same location

Then paste a pic of the pic in the spread sheet

It can be done

When I started typing this a while ago, it was a clear blue sky. Now it is mostly overcast with the sun peeking through, so by collecting the sky data when clear and now, you could tell what conditions to hope for when you arrived. The next question is what factors change the sky in such a short period.
Kind of a scientific study for photographers :)

You could decide who to share the spread sheet with

Not all pics but when you got a good one, add it.

Using the data, try to predict what the sky would look like on any particular night

You would have to have a weather station  in the location of your study or a means to record the data in that location at the time you took the photo.

The sky is different in places around so how could photographers collaborate on such a study.
The weather data for any location is already on the internet.

In the past I had an idea about a live webcam placed on our mountain.. looked on the internet n found earthcam. They have cameras all over the world.
In an email I found they place their cameras in locations around the world at no cost.

If a photopills team selected a location to make their first study and they could have a live camera there, they could all look at the same sky.
By collecting data they could predict the sky conditions at a particular time (being right a % of the time)

Photography that include things outside have a direct connection to the weather. News channels give stats.. some but they do not connect their reports to photography .

What can you see with live, example.
